How Do I Turn in My Work?

All work must be turn in as a large .jpg and a small .jpg file. If you turn work in ONLY as a .psd file, it will not be graded!

Step one... you must publish your work as a LARGE .jpg file. You will be making a copy of the original file you worked on.

  • With your Photoshop file open in Photoshop, go to File-->Save As
  • Under Save AS, you will see where you can make a copy of the file.
  • In the SAVE AS (file name) text box, make sure your file is named correctly. Unnamed files and incorrectly named files will not be graded!

All files are named with LastNameFirstInitial_period_nameofproject, all lower case.

  • Sample name....taylora_4_b4 for a student named A. Taylor who is in 4th period and is turning in project Breadth 4.
  • Choose where you want the file to save to. I would suggest a file folder on your desktop named FINISHED PROJECTS.
  • At the bottom of the page you will see the word FORMAT. Click on that and look for and choose .jpg.
  • Hit SAVE.
  • Open your new, saved .jpg file in Photoshop.
  • Go to Image--> Image Size
  • Change the Resolution to 72 DPI
  • Look at the file size (upper right of the Image-->Size Menu)
  • Make sure that the file is under 3 Megs in size. It must be under 3megs to be uploaded to the AP website in February. If it is over 3megs, then reduce the file size in inches until it is under the file size limit. If you set up your page correctly in the beginning, it should be under 3 megs.
  • Hit SAVE.

Step two....you must publish your work as a THUMBNAIL .jpg.

  • With your LARGE JPG file open in Photoshop, go to File-->Save As
  • In the SAVE AS (file name) text box, make sure your file is named correctly. Unnamed files and incorrectly named files will not be graded!

All files are named with LastNameFirstInitial_period_nameofprojectS. Everything in lower case.

  • Sample name....taylora_4_b4s for a student named A. Taylor who is in 4th period and is turning in project Breadth 4 and is the small thumbnail.
  • Choose where you want the file to save to. I would suggest a file folder on your desktop named FINISHED PROJECTS.
  • Hit SAVE
  • Go to Image--> Image Size
  • Change the size to 144 pixels (2 inches) on the largest side. The other side should automatically scale to the correct proportion, if not, make sure "Constrain Proportion" checkbox is checked.
  • Make sure the resolution is still set for 72 DPI.
  • Hit SAVE.

Step three... you must put the LARGE version and the SMALL version of the files in the teacher's DROP BOX. Keep a copy for yourself.

Files not put in the drop box will not be graded!
  • Go to your webbrowser and got to www.dropbox.com
  • The login in is Mrs. Taylor's Email address.... alice.taylor@killeenisd.org
  • The password is animationtaco
  • Go to UPLOAD FILES and upload your files (both the large and the small) into your class's file folder
  • WHY must you turn in two files? The large one is the one I look at and will grade. It's also set up to be sent to the AP servers in March. The small one is the one I'm going to use on my website so it will load up faster.
  • You're done!
